surgery is on

dad has finished both chemo (taxol & carboplatin) and radiation

recent scan results show significant reduction of the tumor in the esophagus but a new area of concern below where the esophagus connects to the stomach

both of these areas are going to be removed during surgery

surgery is scheduled for March 8th and is considered to be major surgery with some serious concerns like infection, leakage, etc

during surgery they will be putting a feeding tube in for nourishment until he is healed and able to eat normally again
